We have a number of old pages, old URLs, that no longer exist, but they are still in the Yahoo search engine. People get 404 does-not-exist errors when they click on those search engine links. We would like to remove the links from the search engine and not wait months for the next crawl of the web site. Is there a way to submit these dead links to Yahoo for removal?
For clarification, I am not asking how to remove history or auto-complete entries from my own web browser. I’m talking about remove entries in Yahoo’s search engine database of all websites. Yahoo’s search engine database has links to old, no-longer-existing pages within my website and people keep clicking on those old, dead links. I want Yahoo to remove those old links from their global database of all web pages. I’m hoping there is a way to request Yahoo to remove these old, no-longer-existing page links from their central database of all web pages.
